Under the supervision of the Director, the Associate Director of Admissions oversees university recruitment operations and manages the admissions process for the College of Pharmacy. The Associate Director is a non-voting member of the College of Pharmacy Admissions Committee, which meets at least bi-weekly during the admissions cycle (October through May) and as needed during the remainder of the year. The Associate Director will work with the Director as needed to manage admission operations for the other colleges within Touro University California.
Recurring Tasks: The Associate Director supervises a team of 3 University Recruiters and provides guidance for the development and execution of recruitment plans for their assigned programs, to include the setting and of appropriate recruitment goals. The Associate Director attends regularly scheduled recruitment and marketing meetings for assigned programs to report on recruitment efforts.
The Associate Director is responsible for screening and processing all college of pharmacy applicants, including, but not limited to, transcript evaluations and verification of prerequisite coursework.
Data collection and regular reporting to the Director are weekly responsibilities throughout the entire year. The Associate Director is responsible for generating letters of acceptance and tracking those letters, receiving confirmations of intent to enroll, and tracking receipt of both acceptance and tuition deposits. The Associate Director is also responsible for maintaining incoming student records within Banner and coordinating with all other offices within Student Affairs (e.g. Bursar, Financial Aid, Registrar) to ensure that each office is kept current with accurate enrollment information for the incoming classes/cohorts.
Periodic Assignments: The Associate Director may be asked to serve on the Commencement Committee and helps to maintain the various admissions web pages for each college. The Associate Director is also expected to assist with representing the University at various recruiting events, both local and out of the area/state, which will require some travel.
Other: The Associate Director assists with the commencement ceremony, orientations, and other tasks as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (if applicable):
Under the Director, the Associate Director supervises 3 University Recruiters, and assists as needed with supervision of the remaining admissions staff, which includes 4 additional staff members.
