Alumni Engagement Director

This is an exciting opportunity for the Alumni Engagement Director, who oversees alumni relations for all University programs and provides leadership in supporting alumni activities. This creative and outgoing person works with a team of professionals to design, cultivate and engage Touro’s amazing alums to build new ways of delivering outstanding experiences.

The Alumni Engagement Director will be a strategic professional and resourceful trailblazer responsible for overseeing and implementing alumni activities in targeted regions that provide meaningful opportunities for alums. The Director will lead the charge in growing the alumni association and will collaborate with campus administration as well as the colleges to create and maintain pathways for alumni participation that advance the goals of the University. The Director will also help to identify, cultivate, and seek alumni giving; assist in planning alumni/donor events; and serve as a liaison between the Alumni Association and the academic and administrative leadership.

• Provide creative vision, leadership and oversight to Alumni Relations.
• Partner with TUC colleges and programs to support alumni recruitment, engagement, and fundraising efforts.
• Work with the Advancement Services Coordinator to build accurate and complete alumni database records; capture contact, biographical and career information of alumni via surveys, projects, correspondence, website, and Raiser’s Edge.
• Establish and build relationships with a wide range of alumni, locally, regionally, and nationally.
• Educate graduating students about alumni benefits and engage them in programs.
• Collaborate closely with members of the Office of Advancement in increasing support from alumni by routinely identifying alumni prospects for gifts.
• Plan and implement an annual fund campaign as well as identify and work with alumni to plan annual reunion and events.
• Develop ideas and content for Alumni print publications, website and social media in collaboration with Communications and the Digital Communications and Marketing Specialist.
• Gather news and create content for use in alumni communications, namely the alumni magazine.
• Develop, implement, and coordinate a network of alumni support for TUC mentoring program.
• Work with Communications in securing and interviewing alumni guests for The Current, a podcast channel.
• Work on special projects and perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the VP for University Advancement.

• Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; Master’s degree a plus.
• Experience in an advancement position, preferably in a university setting.
• Experience implementing an annual fund campaign.
• Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and NetCommunity preferred.
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and networking skills are essential.
• Ability to maintain sensitivity, understanding and respect for a diverse academic environment inclusive of students, faculty and staff and staff of varying social economic, cultural, ideological and ethnic backgrounds.
• Ability to work with Vice President of Advancement to help secure funding for the University’s fundraising efforts.
• Excellent written and verbal community skills.
• Demonstrated experience working with and maintaining confidential information.
