Overview

A faculty member in the College of Pharmacy (COP) has responsibilities in three areas: teaching, research and service. For this position, the faculty member is expected to provide high quality instruction and training for PharmD students. Research and/or scholarship is expected. Service to the department (e.g. participation in exam production, execution and evaluation), College {e.g. standing committees), University, and professional community (e.g. pharmacy, science disciplines) is expected. The work requires flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups. The faculty member must support the mission and vision of the College and be motivated toward the development of students as pharmacists.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in curriculum development, delivery, and evaluation.
  • Teach Touro University California pharmacy students during the pre-clinical years (Years 1 and 2) and participate as appropriate in teaching as part of the practice curriculum.
  • Where appropriate, teach graduate students or pharmacists.
  • Participate in the advising of pharmacy students.
  • Maintain an active program of scholarship related to one's area of
  • Present and publish the outcomes of scholarly work at professional meetings and appropriate peer-reviewed
  • Serve on committees and actively contribute to the development of the department, College, University, and
  • Attend and participate in faculty, department, College, and University meetings as appropriate and undertake other faculty duties as assigned.
  • Work collegially with other faculty in the recruitment and development of pharmacy students.
  • Provide reports and other documents as requested by administrators.
  • Engage in faculty development activities.
  • For experiential education faculty: Support the experiential program through curriculum, student, preceptor, and site development, coordination, and assessment.

Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree (e.g. PharmD, MD, DO, PhD) or equivalent expertise in a relevant area.
  • California pharmacist licensure
  • At least one year of postdoctoral training is preferred.
  • Experience teaching at the professional student level is recommended.

Maximum Salary

USD $120,000.00/Yr.

Minimum Salary

USD $96,000.00/Yr.
