Reporting to the Director of Student Success, the Learning Specialist is responsible for developing learning and retention strategies and solutions for adult learners in graduate professional programs of TUC’s three colleges: College of Osteopathic Medicine, College of Pharmacy, College of Education and Health Sciences. The Learning Specialist works directly with students who are challenged by their coursework, testing, and board exams and provides remedial assistance to understand and overcome their deficits. Students self-refer and are referred by faculty. In addition to one-on-one advising, the Learning Specialist delivers workshops and teaches classes on learning strategies, study skills, test-taking skills, time management, stress reduction, and other topics related to learning outcomes. Touro has peer tutoring, study hall monitoring, food distribution and note taking programs that are supervised and managed by the Office of Student Success. Additionally, this person is responsible for supporting the review of requests for accommodations that are submitted by students and ensuring that approved accommodations are implemented and maintained throughout the students’ time at Touro.
Experience with graduate level life sciences or health sciences preferred
