A full-time grant funded community coordinator will be hired to coordinate the expansion of pipeline programs for students interested in and competitive for health professions programs. The goals of the grant are as follows:
Working alongside the Project Director and Co-Director of the TUC HCOP Academy, the Community Coordinator will act as liaison between students of the HCOP Academy and Solano County high schools, Kaiser Hospital, Solano County Health Clinics and between CSU-Stockton, San Joaquin County high schools, St. Joseph’s Hospital, and other partners as needed
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: are those work assignments which are predominant, regular, and recurring.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (if applicable): should reflect who the employee is supervising and what the expectations are.
Supervisory responsibilities include hiring and managing four student facilitators per year who assist with Summer “Careers in Healthcare” academic program. Duties include developing job descriptions for student facilitators, interviewing and hiring facilitators, assigning weekly tasks, overseeing quality of work conducted, ensuring timecards are correctly submitted, and ensuring compliance with research requirements. Additional responsibilities include overseeing Touro University California HCOP Ambassadors HP, students from College of Medicine, College of Pharmacy, and Physician Assistant Program, and HCOP Ambassadors from local high schools and colleges/universities. Duties include developing monthly mentoring schedules for mentors and Ambassadors, monitoring compliance with attendance of mentors and Ambassadors, monitoring completion of activities, managing team conflict, developing and overseeing shadowing experiences for Ambassadors, monitoring and overseeing community outreach projects, and ensuring compliance with research requirements. |
QUALIFICATION(S): is the Education, Training and/or related experience needed by the person to perform the job.
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, related field, or equivalent education and experience preferred. - Master of Public Health preferred. - Preferred experience in program/project management, evaluation of grant-funded programs, and fiscal management. - Desire and passion to work with youth. - Ability to develop relationships and work effectively with government and community partners. - Commitment to fostering a culture of fairness, respect, and equal opportunity |
