Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and passionate graduate student to assist in the transcription and organization of a cookbook featuring recipes from the renowned Chef Ray Nottie. This project aims to create a comprehensive and user-friendly collection of Chef Nottie's culinary creations, ensuring that each recipe is accurately documented and easy to navigate.

Responsibilities

  • Transcribe handwritten and typed recipes from Chef Ray Nottie's collection into a digital format.
  • Organize recipes by category (e.g., appetizers, main dishes, desserts) and ensure consistent formatting throughout the document.
  • Edit and proofread recipes for clarity, accuracy, and consistency, while preserving Chef Nottie's original voice and style.
  • Collaborate with the project supervisor to develop an intuitive structure for the cookbook, including indexes, tables of contents, and other navigational elements.
  • Research and include relevant culinary terminology and techniques where applicable.
  • Assist in gathering and incorporating any additional notes or anecdotes from Chef Nottie to enhance the cookbook's narrative.
  • Maintain organized records of all recipes and drafts to ensure a smooth workflow.

Qualifications

  • Current graduate student in a relevant field (Culinary Arts, Food Studies, English, Communications, or similar).
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or similar word processing software.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for grammatical accuracy.
  • Passion for cooking and food culture, with an understanding of various culinary techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Preferred: Experience with recipe writing or cookbook creation.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Chef Ray Nottie's work or style.

USD $10,000.00/Yr.
