Overview

The Administrative Coordinator 1 supports the Master of Science in the Medical Health Sciences program (MSMHS), a one-year program within the College of Osteopathic Medicine (TUCOM). This involves support of approximately 25 faculty members, several MSMHS staff members, and approximately 80-90 students. A main focus of this position will be to help coordinate academic support efforts. The administrative coordinator 1 will need to organize, prioritize, and follow up on multiple issues important to the generation, delivery, assessment, and recording of the MSMHS curriculum. Duties may include assignments of a sensitive and/or confidential nature as specified by the department program director. The position requires organization, initiative, and appropriate judgement in a number of different situations that can involve interactions with faculty, staff, and students. Responsibilities may change as the program grows and will be clearly defined by the program director.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the program director, the assistant program director, and the student success coordinator to administer academic support programs for students during the academic year.
  • Assistant with the organization of the admissions process
  • Proctoring examinations
  • Assisting with graduation and orientation
  • Assisting students enroll in the MSMHS program
  • Creating and organizing social events for students
  • Help with curriculum organization (setting up Canvas, room reservations, organizing various curricular activities)
  • Creating and maintaining inventories
  • Manage classroom technologies for diverse learning activities

Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to use server-based systems for sharing information such as Microsoft SharePoint
  • Experience learning the basics of new software programs: (for example: Zoom, Canvas, Examsoft, Intedashboard or similar applications)
  • Experience working with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff
  • Teaching or tutoring experience is desired.
  • High school diploma or equivalent certification or job related experience demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and duties required of the position.
